(Business 2.0) – The economy's long-term growth prospects are looking up, thanks to recent jumps in the Conference Board's leading indicators and consumer-confidence index. Growth may slow in the first half of 2005, but when the Fed meets on Feb. 1 and 2, analysts believe, Alan Greenspan will be comfortable enough with the state of inflation to continue his gradual increase in interest rates.
