(Business 2.0) – It's known in the industry as a "triple play"--one company serving a customer's voice, data, and video needs--and so far, only cable companies have pulled it off. But this fall Verizon Communications will begin offering a TV service, called Fios, over fiber-optic lines. Rumor has it that the company--having struck deals in California, Florida, Texas, and Virginia--could roll out Fios in eight markets during the next few months. With about 300 channels, some high-definition programming, and Internet movie downloads, Fios is expected to be priced competitively with cable and satellite.
