It was a dismal year for Sears' chairman, billionaire Eddie Lampert, who is trying to revive retailers Kmart and Sears. He announced a plan to divide the company into five business units, and then dismissed CEO Aylwin Lewis in January. So far, a replacement hasn't been found. The results show why the position is vacant: Revenue fell 4% and profit plunged 44.6%, despite Lampert's efforts to cut costs and offer competitive prices.
