The high price of commodities offers pros and cons for Archer Daniels Midland. As a leading producer of ethanol, ADM sees the rising price or corn -- a key ingredient -- take a toll on margins.

On the other hand, ADM's grain transport business has benefited from increased agricultural demand. In March, ADM announced plans to expand its grain storage facilities in northeast Missouri and western Illinois to handle increased production from farmers in the region. --S.D.
