(FORTUNE Magazine) – Headhunters rated Thomas G. Plaskett, then at American Airlines, one of ''America's Most Wanted Managers,'' describing him as ''crisp, efficient, yet innovative'' (FORTUNE, February 3, 1986). He'll have to be all those things now that the board of ailing Pan Am Corp. has put him in charge. Plaskett's immediate problems: negotiating a labor contract and getting more passengers on board. |
