(FORTUNE Magazine) – Fill 'er up and fill you up at the same time? Amoco believes there's a natural fit between fast gas and fast food, so it's contracting with the likes of Burger King, Dairy Queen, Dunkin' Donuts, and Joyce's Subs & Pizza to serve their fare at its stations.

Results from a 19-month Chicago test of gas and doughnuts have been so-so, with gasoline sales up about 10%. Amoco plans to test its idea at other locations over the next year and a half. The food companies collect a fee for managing the outlets based on business at the pump. Amoco gets about a 10% cut of food sales. Others may follow.
