(FORTUNE Magazine) – KNOXVILLE, TENN.: The state Human Rights Commission ((turned down)) women hunters ((who)) want the woods to themselves on certain days. The group of women -- known as HUSH, or Help Us Save Hunts -- wants . . . Tennessee . . . to set aside certain days when they can hunt without men around . . . The state had women-only hunting days . . . until 1986, when a male hunter . . . complained to the Human Rights Commission . . . So this time, the women proposed separate days for men only too. But Commission ((executive director)) Warren Moore said that would not get around the laws banning sex discrimination. ''The commission believes separate is not equal,'' he said . . . HUSH members said they are concerned about their safety and privacy when they are hunting with men. -- From a UPI dispatch.
