RICH RECIPES
By MARK ALPERT

(FORTUNE Magazine) – There's no recipe for success in the investment world, but that doesn't mean successful businessmen can't come up with some recipes anyway. Warren Buffett and several other well-fed corporate types reveal their culinary talents (or lack thereof) in the First Gentleman's Cookbook, compiled by William D. Orr, 54, husband of Nebraska Governor Kay Orr. Charles ''Mike'' Harper, CEO of Omaha-based Con-Agra, offers chicken breast Marsala -- an Armour Classic frozen dinner (made by ConAgra, of course) zapped in the microwave. On the other hand, Walter Annenberg, former owner of Triangle Publications, contributes a Spanish chicken recipe that calls for green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas, thyme, and cumin. Buffett's Dusty Sundae entry is the most fun. ''First pour generous quantities of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup over vanilla ice cream, and then build a mountain of malted milk powder atop the chocolate,'' instructs the 58-year- old chairman of Berkshire Hathaway. As an addendum, Buffett notes that a typical adult male needs 2,800 calories per day, or over 1 million calories per year, to stay alive. Writes Buffett: ''In my own case -- with a life expectancy of about 25 years -- this means that in order to avoid premature death through starvation I need to eat some 25 million calories. Why not get on with it?'' All right, Warren, but in one sitting?
