You bet, says American Express, which surveyed 450 of its travel agents to find out which destinations are getting the most advance bookings and serious inquiries. The land of Crocodile Dundee topped the charts as the place Americans most want to visit some time in the 1990s. Runners-up: the Caribbean and Mexico. Then came New Zealand, Florida, and the Soviet Union. The surprising No. 1 favorite for an overseas vacation this winter turns out to be damp and sunless Britain. It is up from No. 5 last year, largely due to a wide choice of discount air fares.S.E.K.
