BILL FARLEY'S EX HELPS CEO WIVES
By ANDREW ERDMAN

(FORTUNE Magazine) – William Farley's fortunes may be shrinking like a pair of briefs, but his ex- wife Jacqueline Farley's enterprise is expanding. Since her 1989 divorce from the head of Fruit of the Loom and West Point-Pepperell, Ms. Farley, 52, has been running CenterPoint, an Aspen, Colorado, getaway that invites female executives and CEO wives to ''regain a sense of direction and purpose.'' For some $200 a day, guests get three to four days to meditate, hike, nap, read, get massages, and engage in group discussion. But, says Farley, who has a BA in art from Smith College and an MBA from Chicago's Keller School of Management, ''this isn't group therapy, nor is it a place where women complain about men.'' Instead, the execs come away with ways they might improve their lives, like devoting more time to a hobby. Farley says lots of CEO wives ''see how many things they're doing out of obligation rather than enthusiasm.'' One saw that her husband's career had been distracting her from writing a book for Hispanic kids. She's now working on it. But relax, fellas: Farley has never had a CEO spouse decide she wanted a divorce. Prior to the Farleys' 1987 split, she ran self-help seminars for her hubby's employees. Extra personal expertise for CenterPoint: Before her 11-year marriage to Farley, now 49, she spent another 11 years wed to Philip Rollhaus, 58, CEO of Quixote Corp., a Chicago diversified manufacturer.
