The board member in charge of the search committee, Coca-Cola's head, Roberto Goizueta, says that the new chief should know marketing and think globally. You can bet your lens cap that he'll also be a cost-cutting outsider. -- RINGS OF FIRE So the engines in General Motors' Saturn sometimes burst into flame. Consumer confidence will hold up despite the recall. What really worries Saturn executives is that they are stuck in the marginally profitable small-car market. They have no plant capacity to make minivans or other trucks, and GM won't let them make big cars that would compete with other divisions. -- CALLING ALL F.O.T.s According to a biography of Ted Turner due out this fall, the media mogul is quietly building support for a 1996 third-party presidential bid. It Ain't as Easy as It Looks (Crown, $25) also reports that Turner topped a list of candidates put together in 1992 by a group of Southern power brokers. But the boys feared that the lithium Turner takes to control depression would spook voters. So, they turned to Ross Perot instead. -- LIGHTS! CAMERA! CASH FLOW! Capital Cities/ABC Chairman Thomas Murphy and investor Warren Buffett, whose Berkshire Hathaway owns about 20% of the network's stock, will appear on the August 27 episode of the ABC soap All My Children, returning after their cameos of two years ago. The network shells out $300 or so to each, about right considering their earlier performances. When handed his check, Murphy said, ''I'm going to frame this.''
