(FORTUNE Magazine) – Charles Manson sells his T-shirts, and John Wayne Gacy his clown paintings. Now Danny Rolling hopes to cash in on the notoriety of crime . . . Like Manson, convicted as the force behind the slaughtering of nine people, and Gacy, on Illinois' death row for killing 30 boys, murder may be a ticket to fame for Rolling, who pleaded guilty . . . to killing five Gainesville, Florida, college students. He fancies himself a poet, an artist, and a crooner ((and)) has also co- written a book, The Making of an Outlaw, featuring himself as hero. ''If he gets life ((in prison)), it wouldn't be as lucrative a story as if he gets death,'' says Fort Lauderdale . . . attorney Richard Rosenbaum, who is pursuing Rolling's right to profit from his artistic offerings. -- From a news report in USA Today.
