Goldman's Big Screen Test A new gilded Web option is offered to the chatting classes.
By Devin Leonard

(FORTUNE Magazine) – Listen up, Bill Gates. Goldman Sachs is about to unveil a special online trading site for Net-savvy billionaires just like you. While the investment bank's front-office types are being rather secretive about this new service (the firm declined to comment), one thing is clear: They're convinced that there's a critical mass of wealthy entrepreneurs out there who'd rather trade e-mails with Goldman's Webmaster than chat one-on-one with some presumptuous personal banker. So the blue-blooded firm is testing a restricted Website that will let deep-pocketed execs access the same sort of goodies that it now offers institutional clients. Ever fantasize about billion-dollar block trades, for instance? Now could be your chance. You might also get to eavesdrop on Netcast conference calls with some of your competitors' CFOs--or pore over those hot-off-the-presses, ferrous-metal analyst reports. (Well, only if the masseuse is late.) And yes, Mr. Gates, with this special offer, you'll even get real-time quotes!
