And You Can Keep the Wine
By Parker Bosley

(FORTUNE Magazine) – We gave Parker Bosley, chef and co-owner of Parker's in Cleveland, $100 to buy some wine, on the condition that he tell us what he bought.

Overlook, $22.29 Chardonnay, 1998 It's made with grapes from three areas, Sonoma for the greatest part. It doesn't have a lot of oakiness--more of a yeasty quality. I'd have it with chicken or almost any seafood.

La Demoiselle $24.19 de Bourgeois, Pouilly-Fume, 1998 This is also a white, from the Loire Valley. It would be just perfect with scallops, something very rich.

Bauvoyre, $25.29 Pauillac, 1995 My business partner, Jeff Jaskiel, said this wine was marketed in a year when they were readjusting the labeling system. So you might not see it as being special. But for $25, it's outstanding--wonderful with lamb or game.

Easton Vineyards, $25.29 Zinfandel, Shenandoah Valley,Calif., 1997 They refer to this as "old vines"--I don't know what that does, but this is a good zinfandel. For those who don't like zinfandel, there's no reason to try to convert you.
