(FORTUNE Magazine) – Alan Dershowitz had Claus von Bulow, Johnnie Cochran had O.J., and, in the past two years Boies had three starmaking cases, fighting legal battles for Al Gore and Napster and against Microsoft. Just one difference: Dershowitz and Cochran won. Boies hasn't been so fortunate: W. is President, Napster will probably be shut down, and the Bush Administration is expected to let Microsoft be. Boies wouldn't return calls regarding his annus horribilis, but here's a thought: Maybe Christopher Darden needs a new partner....
