T-Rex, As in Tiny
(FORTUNE Magazine) – For some people, even a Palm is too big. A tiny alternative is Xircom's Rex 6000, a greatly improved version of the Rex Micro personal digital assistant (PDA). It's all there in a 1 1/2-ounce credit-card-sized computer: room for thousands of names, addresses, and phone numbers, plus a calendar, to-do list, memo pad, alarm clock, and calculator. But when it's connected to a PC with access to the new Rex.net Internet site, the Rex 6000 can also grab updated news and sports headlines, stock quotes, and weather reports. It synchronizes with Microsoft Outlook, but users of other personal information managers like Lotus Organizer and Symantec's ACT must pay extra. But don't put it in your wallet. There's no flex in Rex. |
