(FORTUNE Magazine) – It looks as if US Airways has missed its connection. In early July, United Airlines announced that it was abandoning its bid for the troubled airline. The culprit: antitrust regulators, who dithered over the deal for 14 months. (This pact didn't even get the Full Monti.) Guess that's one delay that even the airlines couldn't handle.
