(FORTUNE Magazine) – The former head of Sotheby's has had a terrible year. In February the auction house pleaded guilty to fixing prices with rival Christie's--leaving the 76-year-old on the hook for $186 million in fines and fees. Now he is facing more fines and prison after a New York jury convicted him of the same charge. Next year doesn't look much better: His sentencing is scheduled for April 2.
