The Global Most Admired
By Christine Y. Chen

(FORTUNE Magazine) – What about companies beyond our shores? FORTUNE tracks them too. A poll last fall of 10,000 executives, directors, and analysts from the U.S. and 21 other countries found that America dominates in a big way: Of the world's Most Admired, the top 23 are U.S.-based. (No. 1: GE, of course.) Among the top ten non-U.S. companies (at right), telecom giant Nokia unseats Sony, grabbing the No. 1 spot for the first time. For methodology and a full list, including industry and country breakdowns for 318 companies around the globe, go to www.fortune.com/global-mostadmired.
