(FORTUNE Magazine) – Back from the U.N. conference in Monterrey, touching down in Mexico City. Heard the Distrito has changed. Perhaps. The Camino Real hasn't. Despite some renovation, the place still feels like a live-in period movie--a wave pool out front, hallways wide enough to solve the city's traffic problem, and a look firmly and gaudily stuccoed to the 1970s. Ah, well: In place of style there's always humor--and, gracias a Dios, an interior garden with poolside waiters. I hear an umbrella drink calling. Some things NEVER change....
