Where Women Are Winning
By Daisy Chan

(FORTUNE Small Business) – Women may still have trouble breaking through the corporate glass ceiling, but they rule in small business, according to a recent survey by the Center for Women's Business Research. Between 1997 and 2004 the number of small companies in which a woman owned 50% or more of the firm grew at nearly twice the rate of all companies: 17% vs. 9%. Revenues at female-owned firms increased by 39%, as opposed to 34% for all companies.
