Oregon-based Acme's one beef: Quality bagmakers are easier to find in the Far East.

METALINE manufactures all its wire display stands in the U.S. The South Amboy, N.J., company could save 60% by manufacturing overseas. But being able to fill orders within a week is more important to Metaline, an 82-year-old firm with less than $10 million in annual revenues. --M.O
