Compare Henderson to Top 10 Best Places
Sin City has its appeals, but Nevada residents looking for a home that's more virtue than vice find that Henderson is a godsend.

Just seven miles from the Las Vegas Strip, Henderson is a planned community with great schools and striking mountain views. Its growing population and big-time neighbor make it a prime destination for world-class leisure facilities like the Ritz-Carlton resort and the Reflection Bay golf club on Lake Las Vegas. Many who live here get their exercise while trekking the 30-plus miles of nearby walking trails.

One drawback: Because Henderson is in the Mojave Desert, summer temperatures can top 115 degrees.
