Cost of living: In Prague, one person steers, another pushes

(MONEY Magazine) – Okay. Gasoline prices are up about 10% to 15% from those glorious less-than- a- buck levels you enjoyed last summer. But look on the bright side. You could be filling up in Prague. Americans actually enjoy relatively reasonable gasoline prices. The highest charge tracked by Runzheimer International is $1.37 a gallon in Juneau, Alaska; the cheapest is 75 cents in Casper, Wyo. Overseas, prices range from a prohibitive $5.46 a gallon in Prague to only 23 cents and 25 cents in oil- producing Caracas, Venezuela and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, respectively.
