LOGIC PUZZLE Here's a really hard puzzle that will take a lot of time and concentration -- and maybe a little help from a grown-up. But doing it will give your mind a real workout! Pretend you are meeting five people -- Brian, Kate, Max, Tanya and Tom. They all went to college and have jobs. It's up to you to figure out who went to which college and who has which job. The 10 clues below give you all the information you need. After you read each clue, enter the information in the diagram by putting either Y (for yes) or N (for no) in the appropriate boxes. To help you, we began to fill in the diagram. Since clue Number 1 says that ''Max graduated from the University of Texas,'' we placed a Y in the U. of T. box on Max's line that corresponds to the University of Texas, and we put Ns in all the boxes on Max's line for the other schools. We also put Ns in the University of Texas boxes for Brian, Kate, Tanya and Tom, because the fact that Max graduated from there means that none of the other people did. Fill in all the boxes you can after reading each clue and then use the information in the boxes to fill in more boxes. For example, if you know which jobholder went to the University of Texas, then you know which job belongs to Max, since you know that he went to the University of Texas. Once you fill in all the boxes, you'll be able to write the correct answers at the bottom of the page.

Clues:

1 Max graduated from the University of Texas. 2 Tom is neither an author nor a doctor. 3 The accountant did not attend Oberlin College, Michigan State University or Ithaca College. 4 Neither Brian nor Kate is the author. 5 The teacher graduated from Northern Montana College. 6 The doctor is female. 7 The author did not attend Michigan State University or Ithaca College. 8 Neither Kate nor Tom attended Oberlin College. 9 Tom did not attend Northern Montana College. 10 The doctor graduated from Michigan State University.
