(MONEY Magazine) – What do Matt Damon and Alanis Morissette have in common with Chase Manhattan Bank? Dana Giachetto. The money manager to Gen-X icons has recently been tapped by Chase to co-manage a $100 million venture-capital fund that will invest in private entertainment companies. "We're not planning to blow our money in Hollywood," says Giachetto, 36, a former rock musician. He's scouting for low-profile firms with real earnings and sound management. For clients, he buys blue chips such as Merck, Hershey and Campbell Soup. Says film star Leonardo DiCaprio: "He's educated me financially."
