High-Altitude Movie Choices

(MONEY Magazine) – There's nothing like an inflight movie to make a cramped sojourn in coach class pass quickly. But what if you've already seen that sappy Julia Roberts film? Inmotion Pictures has an answer: In a growing number of airports, travelers can rent a portable Panasonic DVD player and one of more than 200 movies at the company's kiosks. For $10 a day (plus a $250 refundable credit-card deposit), you get the player (which is about the size of a hardcover novel), a movie, headphones, and two three-hour batteries. Additional movies are $4 a day; extra headphones are $2.50. You return the system to any of the company's kiosks, either at your destination or when you return. So far the service is available only in Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Portland, Ore. and Seattle. Inmotion expects to be in Denver, Newark, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose and Washington Dulles this fall.
