(MONEY Magazine) – Q. Do you know a website that lists the yearly returns of numerous asset classes going back as far as 1930? MARK MILLER mark.miller@exchange.aero.org

A. While I couldn't find one source to perfectly satisfy your request, you can create a close approximation with a couple of destinations. Start by typing "Historical Returns on Stocks, Bonds and Bills" into the search tool at the home page of NYU finance professor Aswath Damodaran (www.stern.nyu.edu/~adamodar) for a listing of the annual returns of, yup, stocks, bonds and bills since 1928. Then head to T. Rowe Price (www.troweprice.com/retirement/historical.html) for a table showing how six different asset classes (including small stocks, the S&P 500 and Asian equities) have performed over the past 50, 20, 10 and five years.

If you're willing to pay, financial publisher Ibbotson sells a $110 yearbook that lists the monthly and annual returns of large- and small-company stocks and corporate and government bonds back to 1926 at its website, www.ibbotson.com.
