(MONEY Magazine) – --CREDIT REWARDS. There's no shortage of cards that reward you with loyalty points, but in most cases you can redeem them only at certain retailers. With the new no-fee I-Card from Chase (www.creditcardsatchase.com), the 1% you earn on every purchase goes toward a certificate good at any website that accepts MasterCard.

--PAY TAXES ONLINE. Just in time for the Sept. 17 estimated-tax deadline, the IRS is letting consumers pay their taxes directly online, at www.eftps.gov, for no fee.

--MILES FOR SALE. American Airlines frequent fliers can now buy up to 15,000 miles a year for 2.5[cents] a mile (2.75[cents] for up to 5,000) at www.buyaamiles.points.com. But a $25 transaction fee boosts the the price of 1,000 miles to 5.25[cents] each and 3.25[cents] for 5,000. A better deal may be American's existing program, which lets frequent fliers top off their accounts to qualify for a free trip. You'll pay $125 for 5,000 miles (the minimum), or 2.5[cents] a mile. The catch: you must book at least 21 days in advance to avoid a $50 fee.
