Tokyo Joe Goes Euro
By Peter Carbonara

(MONEY Magazine) – The Internet bubble is gone, and thankfully so are most of the tipsters who clogged online message boards. But Yun Soo Oh Park, known to fans and detractors alike as Tokyo Joe, is still at it.

With a resilience that would impress Cher, Park survived the market collapse and a suit by the feds charging him with cheating folks who paid for his daily picks. In 2000 he settled it for about $750,000 without admitting or denying the charges.

Ol' Joe stood out from the mob of online tipsters with his audacity and his style. Recently relocated from New York City to the French Riviera, he continues to barrage clients with e-mails mixing fast-changing stock picks (mostly shorts these days) with acerbic commentary on finance, politics and whatever else occurs to him. He claims returns of as much as 400% on his picks lately, something we'll just have to take his word for (or not).

This October he plans to hold the "seminar of all seminars...post bubble...post Afghan and Iraq" in Monte Carlo. Could four hours with Park be worth the $10,000 he's charging? Park says he's got 12 takers so far. --PETER CARBONARA
