We found the ever-popular men's Stretch Boundary ski pants (standard wear on any alp) for $120. Original price: $239. Herman Miller's Aeron chair For $699--$100 less than the going rate--you can buy the Highly Adjustable Standard Lumbar Pillow version of the superergonomic Aeron chair at ultimatebackstore.com, with no shipping fees. Pay an extra $70 (for a total of $769) to upgrade to the latest version, the Highly Adjustable PostureFit Aeron (seen here) with a rear Y-strap for extra back support. A brand-new one goes for $869, so you still save $100. Makita 12-volt cordless drill Tool hounds agree: If you're going to buy a drill, you can't go wrong with a Makita. These babies are not cheap--the 12-volt cordless model shown here carries a regular price of $342--but we found it for $124 (including a $25 rebate) through mail-order outfit Home Lumber Co. Holiday stationery Snow & Graham offers everything from standard seasons greetings to groovy coasters (below) that double as party invites. Flowers Plant your perennials in the fall (rather than in April), and they'll bloom faster and grow bigger come spring. Burpee Seeds (burpee.com) holds a pre-season sale on numerous perennials through September. Save 28% when you order three or more of the selected plants--and shipping is free when you spend $30 or more. Rudbeckia "Goldsturm" (below) typically sells for $7 a plant; buy now and get three for $15. Acura TSX There's no rebate. No giveaways. But don't "tsk" over the TSX: At $26,990, the Acura doesn't need sales gimmicks. In fact, no other sedan currently delivers such levels of quality, luxury and performance for well under $30,000. With understated style and Swiss-watch precision, the TSX drives and feels like an expensive sports sedan. (The catch is a smallish back seat.) The TSX is based on a slightly downsized Honda Accord previously sold overseas, but it has a creamy 200-horsepower four-cylinder engine, taut handling and a deluxe interior that will satisfy Yankee tastes. Ford F-Series truck The Ford F-Series pickup has been America's top-selling vehicle for 21 years. And despite a lavish, expensive redesign for 2004, the F-150 carries a $22,010 to $36,365 sticker price that isn't significantly higher than the model it replaces. Throw in 2.9% interest on a three-year loan, and many F-Series owners can trade up to the new model with no increase in the monthly payment. It's Ford's way of ensuring that truck loyalists don't start eyeballing the cowboy competition--a herd that now includes big Japanese trucks like Nissan's Titan. Mercedes bends Buyers get 5% off the retail price of any Mercedes C, E, SLK and CLK Class model if they visit Germany to adopt their new Benz. Mercedes' European delivery program (now in its 40th year) lets you pick up your car at the Sindelfingen factory, tool around the Continent, then drop the car off at one of 14 points in Europe for safe transport to a dealer back home. You cover your air fare, but there's no additional cost for the program, which includes all shipping and delivery fees, U.S. customs duty, a factory tour, a one-night hotel stay in Sindelfingen and 15 days of European auto insurance. Hard drive to go At 120 gigabytes--twice the size of the average hard drive sold today--the LaCie d2 120GB FireWire holds roughly 2,400 CDs, 240,000 digital photos or eight hours of digital video. It's also known for its cool case, which is made of aluminum. We found it for $187, or $32 less than retail, at TechWarehouse.com. Digital jukebox Apple's iPod isn't the only happening MP3 player in town: For $299--$100 less than the iPod--the 20GB Nomad Jukebox Zen from Creative is slightly heftier than the iPod but just as slick in design. Plus, it can store 8,000 songs. Available at Circuit City, Staples and Cambridge SoundWorks. Sharp Aquos 30-inch LCD flat-panel TV If you're in the market for a TV set with a screen that's less than 40 inches, go for LCD rather than plasma. At this size, a liquid crystal display's picture quality is just as good as a plasma screen's, and the LCD is far easier to repair. The 30-inch Sharp Aquos costs $4,500--a 44% discount from its $8,000 price last year. But you can pick it up for less online--about $2,899 (shipping and taxes may apply)--if you comparison shop at PriceGrabber.com. Palm reading Palm's Zire 71 personal digital assistant is the only PDA that combines a digital camera and typical PDA features with a high-resolution color screen for $299. (Others, like the Sony Clie, go for about $500.) Throw in a 64MB memory-expansion card ($60), and it's suddenly an MP3 player. Naturally, we found it for less: At TechBargains.com, a price comparison site that links you to dozens of online retailers, Compuplus.com was selling it for $249; the expansion card for $50. Nikon Coolpix 3100 We found the best price for Nikon's ultrahip 3.2-megapixel Coolpix 3100 digital camera (Nikon's smallest model) via TechBargains.com. In August it was selling for $279, plus shipping and taxes, on Best Buy Digital. That's 20% off the $350 retail price. Atkins diet food If you're swearing off carbs (like almost everyone else, it seems), skip paying full fare at the Atkins website for those meal-replacement snacks called Advantage Bars and instead spend $15 to join GNC stores' gold-level loyalty program. You'll get 20% off the full line of Atkins food on the first weekend of every month. Jimmy Choo shoes Calling all fashionistas! At Netaporter.com, Jimmy Choo's boutique sale saves you 50% on the fancy footwear made famous by the Sex and the City gals. Selection is limited--you'll find Jimmy Choo's spring and summer designs, plus some boots--so act fast to nab a pair. If you can't find your size, other shoe deals on Netaporter.com include footwear by Marc Jacobs (30% to 50% off) and Marni (30% to 60% off). Look for sales on designer clothes and accessories on the site too. Shipping from the U.K.-based website will add another $25 to $30 to the final tab. KitchenAid classics Epicureans: KitchenAid sells what are called "refurbished" appliances on its website. Refurbished doesn't mean icky or defective: "Most were sent out on a photo shoot, used on TV or fall into the category of 'buyer's remorse,'" says a spokesman for KitchenAid. And all products come with a six-month replacement warranty. The best selection--and prices--are at kitchenaid.com, where a six-quart stand mixer (below) goes for $220, a savings of nearly 50% (shipping is included). Check out the website's closeout sales for discontinued items too: We found last year's retro-looking juicer for half-price at $149. A private villa At VillasoftheWorld.com, rent a Greek villa for an exclusive getaway. Stay at the Villa Agios in Evia, Greece in November for just $2,000 a week, $500 less than in high season. This five-bedroom, four-bathroom manor has a pool and staff (including a maid and a chef). Bring your family or friends, split the price, and make Robin Leach cry. Visit the site for other luxury villa specials throughout Europe. An Australia and New Zealand sampler For $2,599, fly round trip from Los Angeles on Air New Zealand (800-262-1234) and spend 12 nights in Australia and New Zealand. The price includes three nights in Sydney at the five-star Hotel Intercontinental, three in Melbourne at the equally posh Sofitel Melbourne and six in Auckland at one of a variety of North Island hotels. The Fidelity-American Express Platinum Card AmEx's travel perks make the hefty $395 fee for a Platinum Card worth considering. But if you have a Fidelity brokerage account, you qualify for the card at a $320 rate--20% less--and still get platinum perks. One tempting example: Through April, you can buy a seven-night getaway for two on the Big Island of Hawaii's Kohala Coast, including an ocean-view room at the five-star Fairmont Orchid resort and a convertible rental car, for $1,894. Or buy a first-or business-class international ticket and get another ticket free. Spa-licious To celebrate their anniversaries, both Canyon Ranch spa locations--in Lenox, Mass. and Tucson (800-742-9000)--will cut their prices. In September a three-night stay in Lenox will cost $1,863 (includes taxes and service fees, plus a $295 voucher you can put toward spa treatments). That's a 15% savings over regular rates. Stay four nights or more and save 20%. In Tucson the anniversary special runs from Nov. 30 through Dec. 22. Save 15% when you stay three nights. Skis Geardirect.com offers some of the lowest prices on ski equipment and will match prices found at other websites and stores. Go there now to catch the tail end of a most excellent summer sale, with last season's models selling for 50% off. The men's Volki Vertigo G2, a top seller for all-terrain skiers, is $329.99, a $245 savings. This year's version of K2's T-9 Skye--a popular make of skis designed for women--is going for $229.99, 20% less than at any other retailer (shipping adds $30). Samsonite 22-inch carry-on bag Get going with the 22-inch, expandable Samsonite carry-on, one of the most popular overnighters among businessfolk, for just $70--72% off the $250 list price--at eBags.com. It's tax-free (except in Colorado and Texas), and the shipping and returns are free too. TOMY MicroPets Pick up a few of these play critters now, before they become this year's Tickle Me Elmo of stocking stuffers. The two-inch interactive electronic toy from Japan responds when you say its name--by moving around, laughing, singing, even snoring. Save 10% on the $12 price when you buy one (even the ultra-popular Siren and Chumsley) at iqkids.com. Shipping is free for orders above $100. DVD deals Deepdiscountdvd.com guarantees the lowest prices and offers free shipping and handling. Plus, it'll match prices found elsewhere online. Preorder soon-to-be-released hits like The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Platinum Series Special Edition), a four-disk set for the film's true fans. At $29.47 (normally $39.95), it includes extra scenes and commentary. Emusic.com Download unlimited songs and albums for a flat fee of $119.88 a year or $44.97 for three months. Emusic has licensing agreements with independent record labels, so you won't find Britney or Shania or AC/DC. But there's lots on offer: alternative rock bands of the past decade--the Pixies, Badly Drawn Boy and Pavement, to name a few--as well as bluegrass legends the Carter Family and jazz greats Thelonious Monk, Chet Baker and John Coltrane. Nokia 3650 camera phone A must-have since its debut last spring, this cell phone-cum-camera costs roughly $300 by itself, but at Buy.com, if you pair it with an AT&T plan, you can get it for $150 after a $150 mail-in rebate.
