Motown Madness
By Lawrence Ulrich

(MONEY Magazine) – Among the hottest topics at January's Detroit Auto Show: supercars for the super rich. For years Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari and the like have owned this turf. But in July blue-collar Ford puts its 200-mph, $140,000 GT on sale. Chrysler scored big buzz at the show, though, with the ME Four-Twelve, an 850-hp, 240-MPH concept car. The design was overcooked but the performance might topple the $650,000 Ferrari Enzo--if a slumping Chrysler ever finds an excuse to build showroom models. Price? Figure between $300,000 and $500,000. --LAWRENCE ULRICH
