Hang Time: Vintage Ornaments
By Ryan D'Agostino

(MONEY Magazine) – Whether you're displaying aluminum or Douglas fir, ornaments are in order—and vintage decorations can help send your tree (or "tree") back in time. Victorian-era ornaments start at around $90, but mid-20th-century examples like those shown here are rarely more than $40. "After World War II, when a larger middle class emerged in America, these were widely produced in countries known for fine glass-making," says New York City antiques dealer Paula Rubenstein. "They're really beautiful, and today there's a market for them." On the Web, the best single source is eBay; plug Antique Christmas Ornaments into Google for smaller caches. —RYAN D'AGOSTINO
