Vanguard Limits Short-Term Trades

(MONEY Magazine) – In an effort to curb short-term trading, Vanguard announced that effective Sept. 30, shareholders can no longer buy into a fund if they've sold that same fund in the past 60 days. However, this new rule does not apply to exchange-traded, money-market or short-term bond funds. While Fidelity and others have recently slashed fees, TIAA-CREF has proposed hiking them by as much as 0.50 percentage points.
