(MONEY Magazine) – As stock and bond funds sputter, specialty real estate funds are showing resilience: The Vanguard REIT Index and Cohen & Steers Realty Shares posted 3.5% gains in June. After closing a year ago, longtime MONEY favorite Third Avenue Value Real Estate will reopen on July 1 (see Behind the Headlines, page 82). Emerging markets funds, meanwhile, keep sliding; the three in the MONEY 65 all suffered double-digit losses.
