SYNOPSIS
AUSTRALIA - China Minmetals Nonferrous Metals Co Ltd, a unit of Chinese state-owned China Minmetals Corp, agreed to acquire the entire ordinary share capital of OZ Minerals Ltd, a copper, lead, zinc, and gold mining company, for 0.825 Australian dollar (3.653 Chinese yuan/$0.536 US) in cash per share, or a total value of A$2.575 bil (11.403 bil yuan/$1.673 bil). The transaction was to be effected via a scheme of arrangement, was approved by the board of directors, and subject to the approval of the shareholders, regulatory authorities, and to due diligence completion.
