Air Methods confirms 3 dead in Wisconsin crash
Air Methods helicopter crash kills 3 in Wisconsin, NTSB now investigating accident

NEW YORK (Associated Press) - Air Methods Corp., which provides emergency medical air transportation, said three people died when one of its helicopters crashed Saturday night in Wisconsin.

The company said the helicopter disappeared shortly after lifting off after refueling. Air Methods said the crash happened Saturday around 10:30 p.m. central time after delivering a patient to a hospital. The wreckage was found Sunday morning near La Crosse, Wis.

The plane's pilot, flight physician and flight nurse were among the fatalities. No patients were on board, the company added.

The company said the helicopter was serving the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison.

Air Methods said the National Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the accident. Top of page
