NORTHFIELD, Minn. (AP)--Authorities say a derailment of 26 cars on a Union
Pacific Corp. (UNP) freight train near Northfield has caused a leak of sulfuric
acid.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says the derailment occurred near a
residential area at about 2 a.m. Monday.
Davis says no injuries were reported from the derailment and no evacuations
had been ordered as of 6 a.m.
Davis says the acid was leaking slowly from only one tanker car.
