NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- AT&T Inc. (T) won't charge a single, flat early termination fee on its new and renewing wireless customers who have signed up for one- or two-year service agreements, starting May 25.

Instead, the San Antonio telecommunication company said, the $175 fee will be reduced by $5 each month during the contract.

The company said the new policy will give its wireless customers greater flexibility.
