2nd UPDATE: Chevron Pembroke Refinery Output To Restart Friday
Dow Jones

(Updates with company statement.)

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Production units at Chevron Corp.'s (CVX) 220,000-barrel- a-day Pembroke refinery in southwest Wales are in the process of restarting, the company said Friday.

"Production is expected to resume later today and over the next few days, this will increase to normal rates," Chevron said in an e-mailed statement.

Chevron was forced to fully halt production at the refinery April 30 after an electrical fault occurred in the facility's steam plant, which came back online over the weekend.

The company said it was continuing to meet contractual obligations during the outage.

Gasoline accounts for 50% of Pembroke's production, according to a report on Chevron's Web site.
