SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 18, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced that it has hired Paul Duren as vice president and senior business development officer in its Commercial Banking Services (CBS) group in South Bay/San Jose. Duren is a well-known banking professional who has worked in the financial services industry in San Jose for nearly 30 years.

In his new capacity, Duren will be responsible for developing new client relationships with mid-sized companies in the South Bay and San Jose area and matching their financial needs with solutions from City National.

Duren will report to Christine Larson, senior vice president and business development sales manager of the bank's Commercial Banking Services division, but he will work very closely with Arlene Gould, regional commercial banking manager.

"Paul is a skilled commercial banker who has many years of proven success in developing banking relationships with companies in and around San Jose. Prior to joining City National, Duren served as vice president and business development officer for Comerica Bank in San Jose for nearly 20 years, specializing in companies with revenues of more than $10 million. Previously, Duren spent six years with Bank of America serving as an assistant vice president, and before that with The Crocker Bank in San Jose.

Duren, who lives and works in San Jose, is a graduate of California State University Sacramento, and received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA.

Duren is very active in the community serving as a member of several professional or trade associations, including the Association for Corporate Growth, San Francisco Chapter.
