New Animated Desktop Companion Redefines USB: Unsolicited Stream of Banter

Bringing the likeness of Sigmund Freud's Id to desktops, cubicles, and college dorm rooms everywhere, WowWee, an Optimal Group company (NASDAQ: OPMR), has announced the launch of Chatterbot(TM) peripherals - fun, irreverent, animated computer gadgets that connect to a PC or Mac via USB cable. Whether surfing the web, chatting online, or typing a term paper, the Chatterbot accessories will comment on the user's virtual life with comical facts, quips, and physical reactions, serving as an outlet to the subliminal. The Chatterbot line includes three unique character designs, each with a very special personality: The Fairy Godfather, Dog/Cat, and Devil/Angel.

Configured for even the most computer-challenged, Chatterbot accessories include an easy-to-use installation wizard and an on-screen software interface. As users go about their daily computer activity, over 2,000 keywords and various actions will trigger the Chatterbot accessory to make remarks about the content or type of action. The on-screen interface also allows users to order the Chatterbot accessory to perform on cue - and if you're in the mood for a little off-color humor, this includes punishing, praising, or commanding your Chatterbot to perform bodily functions!

In addition to having control over the Chatterbot accessory's volume, users can put their companion to rest with the on-screen interface "Sleep" button or, alternatively, reduce the unsolicited stream of banter with the "Chatter Control Slider," which adjusts the random chatter levels. The Chatterbot accessories can also connect to external audio sources, serving as a standalone speaker, and feature LED indicators that will begin to blink when batteries are running low.

Chatterbot accessories are now available at www.Target.com and www.iQVC.com for the approximate retail price of $49.99 and will be coming soon to the WowWee Online Store (www.WowWeeStore.com). Appropriate for ages 12 years and up, the Chatterbot accessories include a USB cable, audio cable, and software CD for PCs (downloadable version of software available for Macs); 4 "AAA" size batteries (not included) are required for the standalone speaker function.
