Solar EOS's Solar Installer School Has Been Approved by the Waccamaw Workforce Investment Board as a South Carolina Eligible Training Provider Under the Workforce Investment Act
Solar Energy Initiatives, Inc. (OTCBB: SNRY), with businesses in solar project development, distribution and workforce training, today announced that the company's SNRY Solar Inc. division has been approved to open its solar technical training school in South Carolina. The Solar Installation School, developed and facilitated by Solar EOS -- a wholly owned subsidiary of Solar Energy Initiatives, Inc. -- will be added to the South Carolina Workforce Investment's Eligible Training Provider list and the School will be a new training option to which area Career One-Stop locations will begin referring eligible training applications. The Solar Installer School was designed to train prospective solar installers both in classroom theory and design as well as extensive hands-on experiential learning. To ensure students enter the workforce with the greatest competitive advantage, Solar EOS takes a comprehensive approach to solar which includes green building strategies, sustainability, and technical knowledge of energy efficiencies utilizing the LEED Green Building Rating System as its core curriculum. The 8-week course provides 200 hours of actual classroom and field education, with over 30 hours of hands-on training utilizing the most current solar thermal and photovoltaic equipment taught by a team of experts in the field of solar and energy efficiency. "Through our partnership with Waccamaw's Workforce Division, we expect to train nearly 200 students over the course of the next year to become top-quality solar installers and energy efficiency champions. Our students have the advantage of eight weeks of intense learning on both theory and application of solar strategies which allows them to be an effective member of an organization on Day One of employment," says Ellen Leroy-Reed, President of Solar EOS. "It is our mission to Renew South Carolina by introducing highly trained and well qualified solar technicians to the state's workforce. Then, South Carolina will be prepared for the new solar economy." "Waccamaw is pleased to have Solar EOS on board as an Eligible Training Provider. Giving our clients' access to solar training is a significant benefit which will allow them to successfully compete for higher-paying technical jobs," says Denise Day, Waccamaw's Workforce Development Administrator. "South Carolina will benefit, and our people will benefit, by training our workforce in green jobs and the solar industry."
