Trex Teams With Backyard Design Experts Paul Lafrance and Kate Campbell

(IBS Booth #C5431) -- Let's face it, creating an outdoor living space can be a bit overwhelming. In its ongoing effort to make the process as easy as possible, Trex Company, the world's number one decking and railing brand and leader in high-performance, low-maintenance outdoor living products, has teamed with backyard design experts Paul Lafrance and Kate Campbell of HGTV's acclaimed "Decked Out" series to help contractors and consumers achieve the decks of their dreams through a combination of inspiration, experience, humor and hutzpah.

"Paul and Kate bring a perfect combination of credibility, authenticity and personality to our brand," explained Adam Zambanini, vice president of marketing for Trex. "They both are expert deck builders and genuine fans of Trex that use our products regularly both on TV and in their individual businesses. In fact, Paul is a member of our TrexPro contractor program. They are both smart, extremely entertaining, and above all 'real' - characteristics that we believe will resonate well with both our trade and consumer audiences."

Together, Campbell and Lafrance make up the "Trexperts," a dynamic decking duo that - along with Trex - will share expert tips, trends and tricks for designing and building functional and fresh outdoor spaces. Making their official debut at the 2016 International Builders' Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, the twosome will represent Trex throughout the year at trade shows and consumer events, as well as in media appearances and interviews. Additionally, they will inspire and contribute content for the brand's website, social channels and marketing materials.

About the "Trexperts" Paul Lafrance, most commonly known as the "Deck Guy," is CEO and Founder of the international design company, Paul Lafrance Design. He is the host of HGTV's "Decked Out," "Disaster Decks," "Deck Wars" and "Custom Built," as well as one of the judges on "Canada's Handyman Challenge." Designing and building professionally since 1997, he is known for his groundbreaking backyard retreats, infectious energy, quick wit and unapologetic rock star style.

Kate Campbell got into building and renovation in 2005 after taking a "Women in Skilled Trades" course, which introduced her to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other trades. She now runs her own renovation company, Kate's Contracting Inc., which specializes in small renovations and custom carpentry. She has been working in television for more than five years as part of the crew for "Holmes on Homes," "Holmes in New Orleans," "Holmes Inspection" and, most recently, alongside Lafrance on HGTV's "Decked Out," "Deck Wars" and "Custom Built."

As the "Trexperts," Lafrance will lend his renowned design expertise and inspiration to help contractors and consumers transform decks into inspiring and engaging spaces, while Campbell's focus will be on providing guidance and leading homeowners step-by-step toward building their outdoor oases, offering design ideas and expert advice along the way. Together they will offer solutions and suggestions to help make the deck building process easier and more approachable.

"Everyone needs a place where they can get away and rejuvenate, but not everyone can afford the time or expense of a vacation," explained Lafrance. "Outdoor spaces have the power to help people escape without having to leave home. Working with people to visualize and create those everyday retreats is beyond a passion for me…it's more like a calling."

Campbell added, "My hope is to infuse confidence by simplifying the process and helping people to anticipate and avoid many of the common frustrations associated with deck projects. Together, Paul and I have tackled just about every type of outdoor project there is and we look forward to sharing our experience, insights and ideas with the Trex community."

Campbell and Lafrance will kick-off their reign as "Trexperts" on January 20 at IBS. The duo will be in the Trex booth (#C5431) throughout the day to greet show attendees. At 2 p.m., they will be joined by experts from Houzz, the popular home remodeling and design social media platform, for a panel discussion on "What's Next in Outdoor Living." The educational session will be held in the Trex booth and is open to all registered IBS attendees.
