Sarah Adult Day Services

Target: Seniors

Description: Many seniors don't need constant care, but they may not be capable of being left alone all day. Or they may just crave companionship.

For these seniors the answer may be day care. Sarah Adult Day Centers maintains facilities where working couples can drop off their elderly parents for a day of supervised activity; the centers even have full-time nurses who can administer medicine.

"Our objective is to keep elders living at home," says director of franchise development for the company, Lori Shaffron. Having a safe place for the elderly to come together during the day facilitates that aim.

At the centers there are men's clubs where the guys get together and do wood-working, watch sports, and play cards. Women's groups get together for arts and crafts and sewing. There are putting greens, bowling lanes, and exercise classes as well.
