Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The old S-Class was considered a kinder, gentler full-size sedan (albeit one that could cost well into the six figures). The new model is a return to a more muscular shape. And while previous S-Class designs shared little with its smaller models, the new car includes elements that will appear on future models as well as elements that have already appeared.

Many have commented that the rear of the new S-Class has a striking similarity to the ulra-high-end Maybach limousine that is a sister brand of Mercedes and the car's front fascia picks up a theme seen on the new M, R and GL SUVs.

"All of our models will have that dynamic look that is found in the S-class," says Mercedes-Benz's Peter Pfeiffer. "Our vehicles will always have a sense of presence, as well as a design that signifies forward motion."
