Investment Objective The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of smaller Japanese companies, generally defined as those companies with market capitalizations in the bottom 15% of all Japanese companies. It may invest up to 20% of its net assets in companies with larger market capitalizations.
