Investment Objective The investment seeks above-average total return through a combination of current income and capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances- the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings made for investment purposes) in fixed-income securities (for example- bonds and other investments that Loomis Sayles believes have similar economic characteristics- such as notes- debentures and loans). It is anticipated that the fund's weighted average duration will generally be between two and five years.
