Investment Objective The investment seeks to achieve long-term capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in common and preferred stocks of small-capitalization U.S. companies. The subadvisor generally considers a company to be a "small-capitalization" company if, at the time of purchase, its market capitalization is less than or equal to the market capitalization of the largest company included within the Russell 2000  Growth Index.
