The fund typically invests at least 90% of the fund's total assets in U.S. Treasury securities and in repurchase agreements collateralized by such securities. It adjust the average maturity and effective duration of the fund's portfolio based on HIMCO's assessment of multi-year trends in national and international economic conditions and interest rates, changes in inflationary pressures, and the value of long term U.S. Treasury bonds relative to inflation.
